Thank you to the friends and family who helped us pull off this surprise.
We put this site together to share our special day with those of you who missed it.
Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved!
That is the only reality in the world, all else is folly.
April Fools' Day is celebrated in various countries as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other, called April Fools (this is no joke though!!). Superstition has it that a fella fooled by a pretty girl is fated to end up married to her.
Our new home! Often described as the prettiest town in Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a well-preserved 19th-century village, the heart of Ontario's wine region, and home to the Shaw Festival and a grey cat named Blossom.
Pillar and Post was first built in the 1890s as a canning factory for peaches and tomatoes. In 1914, the cannery’s upper floor was converted to a supply storeroom for several hundred Polish soldiers being trained in Canada. In 1957, the last can came down the line and later that year it reopened as a basket manufacturer until 1970 when the building was converted into a restaurant and craft centre. These days it's a lovely hotel and great place to have a group breakfast. The local peach and tomato canning is rumoured to be moving to Jen and Tim's kitchen.
The ladies wore matching scarves. The men wore matching ties.
The Living Water Wayside Chapel, built in the 1960's is situated on the Niagara River close to Niagara-on-the-Lake. This chapel is famous for being the Guinness Book of World Records holder for the smallest chapel in the world. With seating for only six people it is indeed a remarkable sight to behold. We managed to seat seven. We must have small butts. The ceremony was short and sweet.
Located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the Falls boast the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world. On October 19th, 1901, a domestic cat named Iagara was sent over the Falls in a barrel. The cat survived unharmed. Blossom is working on plans to accomplish a similar feat in 2015.
The best (or at least most exciting) way to see the falls is from above. Huntsville's own Ben Allan was able to help us check things out from a bird's eye view.
Making a grand entrance via helicopter, we finished off the day with a wine tour and dinner at one of the local wineries. Yum yum.

Tulum is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city serving as a major port for Cobá. The ruins are situated on 12-meter tall cliffs, along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayas. We snorkelled in a cenote and ate lots of tacos. The sunshine and the ocean were beautiful.
